Put the brakes on plastic with the 6R rule

Reduce plastic use just follow the 6R rule: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Take Back and be Responsible.

  1. Reject and seek alternatives:

Avoid the use of disposable plastic products, such as coffee cups, plastic grocery bags or single-use cutlery. Opt for greener alternatives, such as reusable cups, metal cutlery or cloth shopping bags.

  2. Reduce your consumption and avoid plastic:

Choose products that do not contain plastic, neither in their composition, nor in their packaging. For example, avoid buying fruits and vegetables wrapped in plastic and opt for products with natural packaging such as your own skin. You can also use glass or metal bottles instead of plastic or disposable bottles.

  3. Reuse as much as possible:

Before discarding a plastic product, think about whether you can put it to another use or reuse it in some way. The plastic is a durable and versatile material that can have multiple uses if we give it a second chance.

  4. Recycle what you can't reuse:

If despite your best efforts you accumulate plastic containers, be sure to recycle them properly. Use a trash can with a separate space for the plastic to facilitate the recycling process.

  5. Remove from the environment:

Actively participate in cleaning up the environment by removing plastic waste you find in natural places such as forests, beaches or rivers. Organize clean-up days or join entities that promote environmental cleanliness.
